Jonathan Bourne – Biography

Jonathan joined PRA from Ernst & Young where he led the Chemicals practice within the Energy, Chemicals and Utilities industry group. He has over 25 years chemicals sector management experience, including 10 years at BP Chemicals.

Jonathan has been involved in corporate and business re-structuring, corporate acquisitions (whilst at Harrisons and Crossfield – later Elementis) and has led the turnaround of a €multimillion European chemicals business. In 2001 prior to joining Ernst & Young he established Utimax, a specialist management consultancy advising investors in the chemicals sector as well as SMEs and technology start-ups.

Jonathan has wide sub-sector experience including petrochemicals and polymers, paints and coatings, speciality chemicals and ingredients for a broad range of industries. He advises corporate and private equity clients on the strategic, commercial and operational considerations of acquisitions and divestments and has a special interest in business development, innovation, growth and executive coaching.

Qualifications: BSc (Joint Honours) – Management and Chemical Sciences, Chartered Marketer, Associate in the Technology of Surface Coatings and Member of the Institute of Directors.
